Amanda Coplin’s The Orchardist was an absorbing novel—I especially loved the descriptions of the seasons in the orchard, and the work there. I love this NPR review. A Barnes & Noble Discover Awards finalist, in 2012 it made best-of-year lists for, among others, NPR, the Oregonian, and the Washington Post, and has finally made the NYT best seller list in paperback in August 2013, a fact that has given me faith in the American book-buying public.
